About the EFCT Externship

The EFCT Externship (Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy Externship) is the first step toward becoming a certified EFT therapist. This four-day intensive training provides the foundation of Emotionally Focused Therapy and is recommended for mental health professionals working with couples, families, and individuals.

During this externship, you will learn to:

• Understand couple distress through the lens of attachment theory
• Identify negative interaction cycles that create disconnection
• Apply EFT interventions to foster safety and closeness
• Observe live sessions and video demonstrations with real couples
• Practice interventions in supportive small-group exercises
