Dr. Guillory brings decades of experience as an EFT Trainer, Supervisor, and clinician to every session. His mentorship model is grounded in collaboration, experiential learning, and a deep respect for the “self of the therapist.” As a Supervisor Candidate, you will receive:
10 hours of direct mentorship with Dr. Guillory (as one of your two required ICEEFT mentors)
Tailored feedback on your development as a supervisor
Support in conceptualizing cases using the EFT model and the Moves of the Tango
Guidance on integrating attachment-based interventions in supervision
Opportunities for role play, observation, and session review
Strategic planning for video recordings and written materials required for ICEEFT submission
Each mentorship session is designed to be practical and affirming, while also helping you refine your supervisory voice and style in alignment with ICEEFT standards.
Dr. Guillory’s approach is consistent with ICEEFT’s standards for clinical supervision, including:
A strong, secure alliance between supervisor and supervisee
Clear, supportive feedback that aligns with your learning stage
Active modeling of EFT interventions and emotional attunement
Thoughtful use of recorded session material and supervision role plays
Attention to therapist development, not just technical skill-building
This mentorship goes beyond certification—it supports your evolution as a leader and trusted guide for EFT therapists in training.
To become a Certified EFCT Supervisor through ICEEFT, candidates must:
Be certified as an EFCT Therapist for at least six months
Have a minimum of four years of clinical experience with couples
Complete a 6.25-hour Fundamentals of EFT course (required after June 1, 2024)
Receive 10 hours of mentorship from two Certified EFCT Supervisors/Trainers
Complete a supervision course (in counseling or psychotherapy)
Supervise at least three EFCT trainee therapists
Submit a written summary, two supervision videos, reference letters, and course certificate to ICEEFT
